We offer in-person wedding dance lessons in modern, fully equipped professional dance studios with full length mirrors, climate-controlled rooms, smooth flooring, full room sound systems in Chelsea or Midtown West (near Penn Station) in New York, NY.
What's more, you'll learn how to dance in a private studio space with your instructor so you don't have to worry about distractions or interruptions while you learn.
When Should We Start Dancing?
Private wedding dance lessons are the most efficient way for you to learn your dance well in a short amount of time.
If you are on a tight schedule and your wedding is less than 3 months away, a two–month intensive series of private dance lessons can quickly bring you and your fiancé(e) up to dancing speed.
We typically recommend preparing your wedding dance as early as possible, 4-5 months prior to the big day. An early start will give you more time to become familiar with dance steps and dancing with each other.
We'll also have more time to polish other items related to your wedding dance including framework, presentation, and timing.
If you are more than 5 months out from your wedding day, a round of group dance lessons, followed by a short series of targeted private lessons can be very helpful. The group dance lessons will help introduce you to social dancing (the cake) and the private lessons will be the finishing touch (the icing).

Our biggest concern before taking dance classes with Simone was if we really needed private lessons to prepare for our wedding dance or if group lessons were sufficient.
As it turns out, the group classes we enrolled in never deprived us from any value. Simone gave us personalized attention when warranted and encouragement when she saw us doing well. In other words, I felt we received good value from Simone.
I consider myself an introvert, therefore I am generally self-conscious and don't often put myself on display. Participating in the lessons was a good exercise in confidence building -- and everything else worked out just fine!
My favorite part of our dance lessons is getting personalized feedback. That definitely helped the learning process. Also, Simone switched in as a dance partner every now and then to solidify a movement or dance step. Being able to get a first hand feeling for what a move is supposed to feel like was really helpful.
If my best friend asked about taking dance lessons from Simone, I would say there is no downside to giving the class a try. I was able to learn enough rhumba to dance credibly at my wedding in 5 short classes. Simone helped me do that.
